Global Wind Power has had its eye on Turkey for quite some time due its vast economic and wind market potential. 3 May 2011, Global Wind Power officially announced its new office in Istanbul, Turkey, through a Business Lunch Event sponsored by the newly established Global Wind Power Turkey and Propartner Vestas Turkey.

The Business Lunch included prestigious guests such as Turkish Finance Minister, Mehmet Şimşek and Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lene Espersen, as well as key business figures from Danish and Turkish business life.
